Supporting Higher Education

Requests for University and Study Support have risen substantially in the last 5 years and we try to provide any assistance we can.

Jersey International Centre For Advanced Studies
Since the MSc first started here we have supported core study and numerous dissertations including the Portelet No Take Zone, St Catherine’s Seagrass, Environmentally Friendly Mooring Buoys, Mangrove Lionfish, Carbon Storage in Seaweed and Acoustic Monitoring.

Exeter University
Department of Biosciences
This year we helped with the continuing study by Porfessor Jamie Stevens that this year involved a DNA analysis by a PhD stuent, that is mapping and examining factors related to the distribution of Eunicella verrucosa a Gorgonian Seafan that is protected by Jersey’s Wildlife Law.

Penrhyn Campus
We are providing annual Field Study support for the Environment and Sustainability Institute (ESI). The group now visits Jersey on a annual basis, using Jersey as an opportunity to examine ‘solutions for the world of tomorrow, a world which places nature recovery, human wellbeing and the core values of democracy and social justice at its heart’. Investigating ways to build a resilient, biodiversity rich marinescape, that offers suggestions of ways to reduce the impacts of climate change and the expansion of a modern affluent society.
MSc students examine sustainability strategies within our coastal and marine environment.
