Since 2019 we have been carrying out a study on Pink sea fans (Eunicella verrucosa) and their importance within our Marine environment, focusing on the role they play. This has required the collection of data about the habitats, densities and surrounding biodiversity.
The project was made possible with the help of the Association of Jersey Charities and the Channel Islands Lottery Fund. We hope this study will be ongoing however a scientific paper was published in 2022 reporting on the current findings. A copy can be obtained via our website form.
(Pink sea fans became a protected species in Jersey Waters in 2021 with the passing of the Wildlife Law).
