JMC is a Jersey based registered and approved volunteer run charity run that is committed to safeguarding the cultural heritage that is our marine environment.
Our key objectives are detailed scientific recording of key habitats and species, particularly endangered, endemic or of special importance. Our reports are published through the JNCC, Jersey Biodversity Centre, Société Jersiaise and the findings are embedded within numerous Jersey environmental reports.
We provide educational workshops, the opportunity for for conservation groups to communicate with our island community and work more closely together and support for those wanting to study and gain experience in marine related fieldwork.
Promoting ownership rather than legislation are seen as more affective strategies by us and we maintain a proactive approach that supports management policy, sustainable practices and an informed education curriculum.
